What are the responsibilities and job description for the Staff Applications Engineer position at Archer?
Archer is an aerospace company based in San Jose, California building an all-electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft with a mission to advance the benefits of sustainable air mobility. What you’ll do :
- Work with systems engineering, software, and configuration management teams to design, implement, and deploy solutions in Archer’s requirements management, MBSE, and ICD tools
- Support the implementation of a configuration management strategy for artifacts managed in Polarion
- Develop codeful solutions to extend out of the box testing capabilities in Polarion
- Develop solutions to extend requirements management capabilities, especially for reporting and data analytics
- Mature Archer’s existing MBSE methodology to enhance architectural analyses and aircraft integration efforts
- Support the implementation of a configuration management strategy for MBSE artifacts
- Develop codeful solutions that extend out of the box modeling capabilities to support use cases across the engineering and airline organizations
- Leverage responsive design principles to improve the UI / UX of internally developed applications
- Introduce OSLC connectivity between Archer’s requirements management, MBSE, and internally developed tools
- Coordinate with DevOps engineers to introduce build and deployment automations and CI / CD pipelines for Archer’s requirements management and MBSE tools
- Work with Archer’s data engineering and digital transformation teams to connect datastreams from a variety of applications using no-code / low-code platforms
- Perform bug fixing and issue resolution based on existing backlog
- Collaborate with tool owners to propose improvements to the software architecture to improve application maintainability and administration

We drive a pay-for-performance culture and reward performance that supports the Company’s business strategy. For this position we are targeting a base pay between $151,680 - $189,600. Actual compensation offered will be determined by factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
