About the Position

The Business Development Proposal Writer is a detail-oriented, self-motivated, and community-oriented individual to help respond to requests for proposals (RFPs) from diverse clients. The ideal candidate will have experience with marketing proposal writing and familiarity working with federal, state, city, procurement sites. The Business Development Proposal Writer’s expertise will play a vital role in helping ASG secure new opportunities.
Primary Accountabilities
- Draft and assemble proposals, presentations, and pitches, assisting the Sales team, including drafting project budgets and timelines
- Conduct thorough research to gather relevant data and insights for proposal development
- Compile and organize information from various sources to support proposal content
- Write clear, engaging, and persuasive proposals tailored to the needs of diverse clients
- Collaborate with team members to ensure alignment with marketing strategies and objectives
- Assist the Sales team in identifying and qualifying new prospects with the use of Salesforce
- Coordinate with appropriate staff about required support and supplemental materials
- Convey the capabilities, background, and experience of ASG as it relates to RFPs
- Submit proposals within deadlines to the appropriate parties for approval including printing/mailing and uploading proposals to procurement sites
- Assist in developing standard assets and processes for submitting proposals, conducting finalist presentations, facilitating pitches, etc. coordinating with other internal departments
- Assist in fielding Potential Clients forms and inquiries
- Assist in maintaining Salesforce, PSOHub, and other internal software
- Assist in internal and client information calls by taking notes and scheduling follow-up calendar events
- Performs the contract archival process along with other sales documents
- Maintain a database to keep certifications up to date and/or assist in applying for new ones and tracking progress and expirations, proactively
- Provide support for other Business Development team projects as needed
- Interface and communicate in a collaborative manner at all levels of the organization
- Facilitate in drafting awarded contract and obtaining parties signatures
- Perform additional duties as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability to contribute effectively to the overall success of the organization
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Associates degree in Business, Marketing, Communications or related field or equivalent training and work experience is required
- 2 years of experience sales coordination, ideally for a marketing agency or in professional services
- 3 years of grant writing, proposal writing and/or copyright experience
- Access to the internet required
- Ability to work occasional evenings during project peaks and company events
Minimum Skills
- Familiarity with technologies and best practices across multiple platforms including CRMs, Government Bidding Portals, Microsoft Office, Adobe Pro, Adobe InDesign, and SalesForce
- Proactively initiates and completes tasks independently
- Strong writing, communication, and time management skills, and ability to work independently as part of a team
- Strong organizational skills and diligence
- Advanced research and analytical skills
- Ability to adapt to a changing environment and manage multiple priorities
- Experience with handling confidential matters with discretion
- Able to act independently and be initiative-taking
- Ability to navigate, mobilize and understand the cultural nuances of diverse communities
Benefits & Compensation
- Base Salary: Commensurate with experience, $65,000-$75,000
- Hybrid-Remote Workplace: Enjoy a remote first workplace, with occasional in person duties sprinkled in for client and internal meetings - must live in New England
