JOB SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for accounting, secretarial, and finance functions, including reporting payroll, accounts payable, program payments, and accounts receivable; reconciling and balancing accounts; data processing activities and programs; and assisting in budget preparation. Performing analytical work while conforming with Federal, State and local laws, rules and regulations.
Prepares and processes accounts payables. Reviews and verifies invoices for completeness and accuracy. Resolves discrepancies with the department head as needed.
Enter invoices into automated accounting systems. Prints and distributes accounts payable warrants.
Process and prepare financial transaction documents, account summaries, and reports from payrolls, accounts receivable, and accounts payable when necessary.
Prepares and maintains spreadsheets for accounting and reporting.
Complies and runs reports as needed.
Verifies authorizations, account codes, and general ledger data. Reconciles and enters financial transactions into automated accounting systems.
Could help prepare the County payroll. Helps review timesheets for completeness and accuracy. Verifies time with the department head and makes corrections as needed.
Enters timesheet information into the automated accounting systems. Could print and prepare payroll warrants for distribution.
Updates and maintains personnel records of paid time off as required.
Maintains and processes various state and federal accounts and financial transactions for the Department of Human Services. Enter financial transactions into state-automated systems. Generates monthly reports from the state. Maintains and reconciles reimbursement rates from the state and assures complete and accurate reimbursements for qualifying programs.
Proactively engages in complex administrative and clerical work necessary to support the Department. Anticipates needs and proactively initiates appropriate action to support the County's mission, vision, and values.
Assists with program audits.
Research financial materials to prepare confidential correspondence and reports.
Attended relevant training as offered and applicable.
