Arctic Dry Ice is a leading manufacturer and distributor of 99.9% pure dry ice, serving commercial, industrial, and retail customers across Vermont, New York, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Maine. We provide critical support to industries, including medical, food service, shipping, and industrial cleaning. We are looking for a dependable, motivated individual to join our team and play a key role in production, customer service, and daily operations.
Position Overview
The Production & Operations Associate is responsible for hands-on dry ice production, shipping and receiving, and supporting day-to-day business operations. This position works closely with the Director of Business Operations and the Director of Sales to ensure all customer and internal needs are met efficiently and accurately. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and will be comfortable handling both physical tasks and customer-facing responsibilities. Work-related communications are expected during scheduled work hours. Company devices will be provided if text/phone communication is required.
This position requires the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including gloves, eye protection, and respiratory protection when required. Training will be provided in OSHA-compliant hazard communication, chemical safety (dry ice handling), and equipment operation.
Essential Responsibilities
· Operate dry ice production equipment to manufacture various dry ice products (pellets, blocks, slices, etc.).
· Safely handle and package dry ice according to customer specifications and company standards.
· Load and unload delivery trucks using manual handling techniques and forklifts (if certified).
· Prepare orders for delivery and assist delivery drivers with route staging.
· Maintain accurate records of incoming and outgoing shipments.
· Support retail sales by taking orders, and preparing dry ice retail orders.
· Identify and alert supervisor of equipment or safety problems as needed.
· Work directly with the Director of Business Operations and Director of Sales to coordinate daily workflow.
· Communicate with staff via email, phone, text, and in-person to ensure orders and operations run smoothly.
· Assist in administrative tasks, including responding to emails and providing written updates on production status and inventory.
· Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
· Follow all company safety procedures when handling dry ice and operating equipment.
Additional Responsibilities
· Answer customer questions regarding products, safety, and applications.
· Assist with special projects or company initiatives as directed.
· Provide professional support to delivery drivers, retail customers, and staff members as needed.
Physical Requirements
Stand, bend, and move for extended periods while performing production and shipping duties with or without reasonable accommodation. Comfortable working in cold environments while handling dry ice products safely. Must be able to lift 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation. Qualifications
· Previous experience in manufacturing, warehouse operations, or logistics preferred but not required (we will train the right candidate).
· Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
· Basic computer skills, including email and order entry.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
· Reliable, punctual, and capable of maintaining consistent attendance.
· Customer service experience is a plus.
· Special skills, such as forklift certification*, Class A or B CDL license, are highly desirable
· Previous experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting is highly desirable.
· Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues.
· Familiarity with quality control processes and standards.
*Forklift operation requires OSHA-compliant certification. Candidates without certification must complete company-provided training before operating equipment.
Compensation & Benefits
Full-time, hourly position (40 hours per week). Consistent schedule: Monday-Thursday, 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM. Opportunities for overtime when needed. Paid time off.
