Job Description:
The Army National Guard Bureau, located in Arlington, VA, is seeking a qualified Budget Analyst to provide technical analysis and recommendations to both civilian and military members. This position supports budget management, execution, funds management, audits, Joint Quarterly Reviews, annual reconciliation, and closeout services for assigned Divisions and Directorates. The ideal candidate will analyze budget-related information and provide operational support while ensuring compliance with all financial regulations and goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, organize, and perform technical analysis to manage and recommend budget functions for the Army National Guard.
- Provide operational support for Budget Analyst services to assigned Divisions and Directorates in areas including budget, execution, funds management, audits, Joint Quarterly Reviews, and annual reconciliation.
- Assess budgets and recommend changes for Directorates, Divisions, and all G8 programs and policies.
- Utilize government databases and systems such as STANFINS, GFEBS, SAP software Manpower Module, ODS, PPBES, and PROBE to extract and analyze data.
- Analyze the impact of new or revised legislation, policies, and program requirements on the budget.
- Provide recommendations to prevent budget overruns and ensure compliance with Fiscal Law, including avoiding Anti-Deficiency Act (ADA) violations.
- Prepare and present budget-related materials for briefing top National Guard Bureau officials, OSD, or Congressional Staff.

About You:
The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in budget analysis or a related field.
- Experience with Microsoft Office suite, including Excel, Word, and Teams.
- Strong understanding of financial systems and databases such as STANFINS, GFEBS, SAP, ODS, PPBES, and PROBE.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret and apply financial regulations and laws.
