Responsible for operating assigned vehicle according to schedule to transport clients to various appointments. Responsible for the safety and well-being of his or her passengers for the duration of the transport.

• Operate vehicle according to assigned schedule to provide safe and reliable transportation.
• Drive in a safe and responsible manner at all times. Comply with all traffic regulations.
• Responsible for activating and deactivating the child safety alarm system.
• Assist wheelchair and mobility limited passengers in and out of the pickup/drop-off points and as they enter or exit the vehicle, including assistance with seating, securing seat belt, securing wheelchairs and other assistive devices. 
• Report any witnessed or reported abuse of passengers to the Transportation Manager. 
• Enforce all laws, including but not limited to, ensuring all passengers wear their seat belts at all times.
• Project a professional image and attitude at all times. Wear company issued ID badge.
• Communicate with Dispatchers or other Drivers to report disruption of service, delays or accidents.
• Responsible for cleanliness of vehicle, as well as inspecting and reporting any vehicle damage or malfunction on a daily basis.
• Maintain records of trips and behavior of passengers.
• Identify self and announce presence at the entrance of the building at the specified pick-up location if the passenger is not waiting curbside.
• Regulate heating, lighting and ventilation system for passenger comfort.
• Attend educational workshops and classes.

Requirements

• Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Must be at least 25 years old.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• Certified in CPR/First Aid.
• Must submit to and successfully pass a criminal background screen, adult and child maltreatment screen and pre-employment drug screen.
• Must not have any combination of two moving violations or accidents on the motor vehicle report.
• Experience in driving or working with elderly or disabled is preferred.
• Strong communication skills.
