Job Description: Kitchen Operations Manager

Location: Arin's Good Girl Dog Treats – 202 Park Drive, Belmont, NC 28012

Schedule: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM (additional hours as needed)

Position Type: Part-Time

Position Overview:

Arin’s Good Girl Dog Treats is seeking a motivated and experienced Kitchen Operations Manager to oversee and manage the kitchen during production shifts. The Kitchen Operations Manager will be responsible for ensuring smooth operations, managing employees and volunteers, and maintaining a high standard of food safety and product quality. This is a key role that requires leadership, organization, and a passion for creating a positive work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

A. Kitchen Operations:

  • Oversee daily operations in the kitchen, ensuring equipment is functional and workstations are properly set up for each production shift.
  • Supervise the preparation, baking, and packaging of dog treats in accordance with established production schedules and quality standards.
  • Ensure proper handling of ingredients and that all products meet company specifications.
  • Coordinate with the team to ensure that production flow is efficient and all processes are followed.
  • Ensure that treats are baked, dehydrated, packaged, and sealed correctly for distribution.

B. Employee & Volunteer Management:

  • Supervise and manage kitchen staff, including employees and volunteers, during baking shifts on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
  • Assign tasks and responsibilities based on skills, production needs, and available resources.
  • Provide guidance and training to new staff and volunteers on kitchen operations, safety protocols, and product quality standards.
  • Address concerns and issues raised by team members in a timely and effective manner.
  • Maintain a positive, collaborative, and inclusive work environment.

C. Schedule & Workflow Coordination:

  • Develop and manage employee and volunteer schedules to ensure adequate coverage during production shifts.
  • Monitor and track employee hours, ensuring accurate reporting for payroll.
  • Ensure that break times are adhered to and properly managed for all team members.

D. Quality Control & Compliance:

  • Maintain strict adherence to food safety, sanitation, and cleanliness standards.
  • Conduct regular inspections of the kitchen and workspace to ensure compliance with health regulations.
  • Monitor and maintain product quality, ensuring consistency and high standards for every batch.

E. Inventory Management:

  • Oversee and maintain inventory of ingredients and packaging materials, ensuring the kitchen is well-stocked and prepared for each production shift.
  • Work with the operations team to track ingredient usage and place orders as needed.
  • Ensure that ingredients and final products are properly stored at the Wucherer house.

F. Reporting & Communication:

  • Provide regular updates to the management team on production status, employee performance, and any issues that arise during shifts.
  • Prepare and submit weekly or daily reports on production efficiency, staffing, and inventory needs.
  • Ensure communication is clear between kitchen staff, the production team, and management.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in kitchen management, food production, or a related field.
  • A passion for inclusivity and the mission of supporting individuals with disabilities is a plus.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
  • In-depth knowledge of food safety practices and sanitation procedures.

Compensation:

Hourly wage: $17.00 - 20.00 per hour

No benefits for part-time position.
