Assistant Coach - Football (PT)

General Job Brief

Assist the head coach with leadership of the athletics program, including various aspects of the day-to-day operations, and other items noted below as directed by the head coach. This role also requires a comprehensive understanding of and commitment to the unique Christian mission and vision of ACU to Transform Culture with Truth, and the ability to advance that mission and vision through the performance of its duties, including person-to-person mentorship and discipleship.

Duties, Tasks, Responsibilities

Assists the Head Coach in the following areas

• Establish and maintain a culture of faith, influence, relationships, excellence.
• Practice and training preparation and coaching.
• Game day responsibilities as designated by the Head Coach.
• Academic accountability.
• Provides spiritual guidance, prayer, and support for the team.
• Travel considerations for competition and recruitment, requiring a valid driver's license.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Completing other duties and tasks with utmost integrity and professionalism, as directed and not necessarily mentioned in this description, will be expected.
• Commitment to the University's faith statement, mission, and purposes; and an active Christian faith.
• Comfort and familiarity with the practice of praying with and for others, including students, faculty, and fellow University staff.
• The ability to meaningfully support and encourage students, faculty, and staff from a biblical worldview perspective, using relevant and applicable references from the Old and New Testaments and orthodox Christian writings.
  
  

Fair Labor Standards Act

This position is considered to be part-time, exempt for overtime pay provisions as provided by the

Federal Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and any applicable state laws.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree, master's preferred.
• Prior collegiate or professional playing experience and/or demonstrated success as a coach.
• Demonstrated connection to the Christian Mission and Core Commitments of the University.
  
  

Working Conditions

• General sport environment.
• Office hours to accomplish administrative tasks.
• Meeting with student-athletes as needed.
• Travel to competition and recruitment as needed.
  
  

Time Required

• Standard college sport calendar for in-season and out-of-season.
