About Arizona Youth & Family Services, Inc.

A Day in the Life of a Behavior Coach

In this role, you will be instrumental in implementing treatment plans to prevent behavioral escalations. You will:

  • Collaborate with therapists, clients, and families to establish and work towards treatment goals.
  • Conduct one-on-one sessions with children in their homes, schools, or communities.
  • Develop and teach age-appropriate behavioral interventions tailored to individual clients.
  • Track progress and reinforce follow-through on interventions.
  • Participate in weekly supervision and ongoing training.

This position is critical in preventing hospitalization and facilitating transitions to lower levels of care for children showing progress. The work you accomplish will make a significant difference in the lives of the families you serve.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, sociology, child development, education, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience working with children, adolescents, or families dealing with behavioral challenges.
  • Knowledge of behavioral interventions, including behavior contracts and positive reinforcement strategies.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Excellent time management skills and a positive demeanor in challenging situations.

Work Schedule

The Behavior Coach position includes non-traditional hours, with typical schedules requiring staff to work with clients between 3 PM - 9 PM, based on client needs.
