Qualifications:
- Certificated (preferable) or non-certificated with education background
- Be a self-directed worker
- Commitment to education and students
- Awareness of differences in learning styles among students
- Ability to work with administrators, students, staff, and parents
- Ability to assist student’s academic, social, and personal growth
- Organizational and interpersonal skills
- Ability to follow, adapt and develop lesson plans
- Awareness of middle level philosophy and developmental traits of middle level student
- Basic computer literacy
- Ability to structure and supervise a disciplined classroom setting
Report to: Building administrator
Performance Responsibilities:
- Establish and maintain a disciplined classroom setting so that students assigned to CSR adhere to the guidelines for expected student behavior
- Supervise any student assigned in school suspension, time-out, lunch detention or after school detention
- Function as an instructor/tutor by providing any necessary help or assistance on assignments
- Develop file of contingency lessons for students to work on when required assignments are not available or have been completed
- Keep students on task
- Administer all tests assigned by the classroom instructor
- Maintain files by filing disciplinary data as well as all data sent from the office in student files
- Maintain open communication channel with administration, students and staff
- Monitor and keep accurate records on the amount of time students are required to attend in school suspension
- Fulfill additional responsibilities as defined by the building administrators
