Title: Patient Access Associate (FT & PRN), Registration Date Posted: 09/27/2024 --> Description: The Patient Access Associate is responsible for the registration of inpatients, outpatients, and emergency room patients in a competent and efficient manner; obtains required demographic and financial data in order to create an accurate patient chart; verifies insurance coverage; and collects patient deposits when necessary; effectively interacts with patients, significant others, and other healthcare members while maintaining standards of professionalism. The Switchboard Operator is responsible for answering all incoming calls to the switchboard; transfers calls to the appropriate department or person; maintains the on-call lists for various departments and physicians; directs patients and/or visitors to various locations throughout the hospital; performs overhead paging and beeping as needed. Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent required. Must be able to work weekends, when scheduled. At least one year of computer experience and excellent people skills. Background in healthcare environment preferred.
