• Monday–Thursday, 7:30 AM – 1:00 PM
• Friday, 8:30 AM – 11:30 AM (or as directed)

Position Summary

Arlington Charities is seeking a reliable and motivated Driver/Warehouse Assistant to join our operations team. Reporting to the Operations Director, this part-time role supports all aspects of warehouse operations and handles daily food donation pickups using a company box truck.

You will play a vital role in ensuring the safe transport, receipt, and storage of food donations, helping us serve thousands of individuals and families in need.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive the agency’s 18-ft and 25-ft box trucks to pick up food donations from local grocery stores.
• Unload and sort all donated groceries including meat, produce, dairy, bakery, and canned goods.
• Accept, log, and store all incoming donations.
• Assist in stocking and organizing warehouse shelves.
• Maintain cleanliness and curb appeal of the facility, including trash removal and general upkeep.
• Perform basic maintenance and minor repairs on agency property and equipment.
• Communicate regularly with the Operations Director regarding route status and truck maintenance needs.
• Complete daily temperature logs for coolers and freezers.
• Support agency-wide initiatives such as food drives, holiday distributions, and special events.
• Assist with daily facility cleanup and closing procedures.
• Provide back-up support to other staff and volunteers as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required.
• Ability to safely operate an 18-ft and 25-ft box truck with air brakes (no CDL required).
• Ability to lift and carry a minimum of 40 lbs.
• Previous experience in warehouse, delivery, or related roles preferred.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills; English required, Spanish a plus.
• Ability to multitask, stay organized, and solve problems proactively.
• Basic computer literacy and general maintenance knowledge are helpful.
