Qualifications

- Interviews patients for medical history and medication information, assists with procedures, and records information in EMR application.
- Prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients.
- Drapes patients with covering and positions instruments and equipment.
- Hands instruments and materials to doctor as directed.
- Cleans and sterilizes instruments.
- Inventories and orders medical supplies and materials.
- Reports results of diagnostic testing to patient or patient's representative, following HIPAA guidelines.
- Gives injections or treatments, and performs routine laboratory tests, as directed.
- Schedules procedures, keeps medical records, performs secretarial tasks, and completes insurance forms.
- Keys data into computer to maintain office and patient records.
Education and/or Experience
- Certificate of completion of Medical Assistant program or Certified Dermatology Technician certification
- Previous dermatology or primary care experience a plus but not required
Salary
Excellent salary; negotiable based on experience/education.
Language Skills
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
