SUMMARY: Janitor will ensure a clean, orderly and sanitary environment within the Facility by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other general and maintenance duties may be assigned.
It is the responsibility of the janitor to keep all buildings clean and orderly.
Maintain grounds, trash, wash windows and glass doors.
Clean restrooms, cafeteria rooms daily or as needed, vacuum floors in all office areas.
Replace trash liners as necessary, and dispose of trash in office areas.
Clean sinks at least daily with liquid cleaner.
Clean labs, offices, utility rooms, hallways, lobbies, corridors, stairways, and other work areas.
Provide the Department Supervisor with janitor supplies requisition form as needed to maintain supplies in stock.
Assist other departments when needed, occasionally is required to move heavy objects (furniture).
Wash, buff and wax all tile floors in lunch room, rest rooms and warehouse.
Clean carpet at least quarterly and outside window as necessary.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school education; or up to one month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, procedures and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, or subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to understand to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
