What are the responsibilities and job description for the Kennel Assistant position at ARO International?
Job Description: Part-time position assisting in all aspects of kennel care for large breed dogs. Flexible hours, including p.m. and weekend shifts. Duties include maintaining a clean and safe environment inside and out. Effectively and safely manage play groups of 5 to 15 dogs. Additional tasks include assisting with care of the pets including kennel cleaning, feeding and medicating.
Preferred schedule would be 7am-10am and 5pm-7pm will flex based on dogs and puppy’s needs.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Ability to follow low stress animal handling techniques and maintain a patient manner when handling puppy’s
- Set time aside to play and condition puppy’s
- Able to work independently and without supervision
- Has an upbeat and outgoing personality with ability to work with a variety responsibility
- Enjoy contributing to a high-end breeder’s kennel
- High attention to detail
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment and multi-task
- Comfortable using a windows-based computer software program
- Possess problem solving and decision-making skills

- Reliable
Qualifications and Skills
Must be able to lift up to 40lbs
Must be able to work at least one weekend day.
Previous dog handling experience preferred but not required.
Must be 10 minutes away from Denton, Texas
