What are the responsibilities and job description for the Infant/Toddler Educator with Heart position at Arrow Child Development (Home) Center?
Job Summary
Arrow Child Development Center is seeking a passionate and purpose-driven Early Childhood Teacher to join our holistic, eco-healthy in-home preschool team. We are not just hiring a warm body—we’re looking for someone who feels called to nurture and guide children through hands-on learning, faith, and nature. Our licensed, in-home preschool serves children 12 months to 5 years and is the only Eco-Healthy Child Care™ endorsed program in Williamson County.
If you’re committed to nurturing the whole child: emotionally, physically, spiritually, and cognitively—through a play-based, faith-rooted approach, we’d love to meet you.
Responsibilities
- Create and implement engaging, age-appropriate lesson plans that support the whole child through play, sensory, nature, and social-emotional learning.
- Foster a nurturing, faith-filled classroom environment where each child feels seen, safe, and supported.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and eco-conscious learning space aligned with our values.
- Use observation and documentation (not standardized testing) to assess growth and support each child’s development.
- Collaborate with families and team members to provide a warm, open, and communicative environment.
- Support outdoor learning and nature play, which is integrated into our daily rhythm.
- Model Christ-like gentle discipling, kindness, curiosity, and compassion.
- Participate in ongoing professional development aligned with early childhood and holistic education best practices.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma required and CDA, Associate’s, or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field preferred.
- At least 1 year of experience in a childcare, preschool, Faith/Play-Based or Montessori/Reggio-inspired environment.
- Passion for child-led, play-based, and faith-centered education.
- Strong communication skills and positive classroom management.
- Knowledge of holistic, Reggio Emilia, or Montessori methods is a plus—but a growth mindset is even more important.
- Preservice hours competed within the last year
- CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain.
- Must be dependable, nurturing, and committed to creating a safe and loving environment.
Why Join Arrow?
- Low student-to-teacher ratios (typical 1:4, 1:6, or 1:8 depending on the age group; however, we have a max of 1:12 in our in-home program)
- Warm, family-first culture
- All-natural, non-toxic environment
- Paid holidays (and PTO accurad)
- Ongoing training and growth opportunities
- Potential enrollment discount for staff children
