Summary:
Arrowmark is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Heavy Civil Estimator to join our growing construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for accurately estimating costs and preparing competitive bids for grading, underground wet utilities, concrete and paving projects. This role requires a deep understanding of civil plans, utility installation methods, and local agency requirements
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Seek bid documents and maintain contact with prospective client representatives.
- Perform site visits to accurately determine work conditions and needs.
- Perform quantity takeoffs from electronic or hard-copy plans.
- Develop conceptual, budgetary and hard-bid estimates.
- Present and discuss estimates for final pricing decisions with upper management.
- Prepare estimates for new projects and change orders on existing contracts.
- Revise bids as requested by clients.
- Follow up on submitted proposals and assist during contract negotiations and award process.
- Quantify cost impact of ongoing project changes and assist in developing change orders.
- Analyze plans and specifications.
- Support construction operations and project management when warranted.
- Supports and follows all Safety policies, procedures, and practices
- Other duties assigned as necessary
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of heavy civil estimating experience for both private and public projects.
- Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and Outlook
- Experience using HCSS HeavyBid is preferred but not a requirement.
- Strong knowledge of site utilities
- Proven experience estimating projects located within the public right-of-way.
- Valid AZ Driver License and acceptable MVR required
- This is a Safety Sensitive position and requires the ability to pass a drug screen
- Must be able to meet deadlines
- Self-starter, results-oriented individual with sufficient interpersonal skills to fit within company culture and become a valuable team member.
Physical Requirements:
Work is conducted in both indoor office settings, and outdoor constructions jobsite settings. Travel to job sites as required. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit for long periods of time, talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard and telephone. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision requirements due to computer work. Light to moderate lifting is required.
