Salary Range: $238,000 to $240,000 Annually
Summary:
Under the direct supervision of the Chief Medical Officer the physician provides comprehensive family practice medical care in a community health center.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for providing the full range of out-patient comprehensive family practice medical care to include, but not limited to medical diagnosis, medical treatment, medical follow up care, health promotion and disease prevention, medical consultation, medical referrals and urgent / emergency medical care, including medical care to pediatrics (including newborns) through senior citizens.
- Responsible for referring patients for hospitalization as necessary and provides or coordinates in-patient care.
- Responsible for providing follow-up care to out-patients and in-patients.
- Responsible for supervising and providing consultative service to mid-level practitioners.
- Responsible for providing consultative services to the nursing staff and other physicians.
- Responsible for precepting Medical Students, Nurse Practitioner students and Residents as assigned.
- Responsible for participating in the Agency’s in-service training program.
- Responsible for rotating on-call schedule for nights, weekends and holidays.
- Responsible for participating in the Agency’s clinical and non-clinical quality improvement activities and programs, and for meeting medical performance quality indicators.
- Responsible for following all Agency safety and health standards, regulations, procedures, policies, and practices.
- Responsible for actively participating in the Improving Organizational Performance Program, which includes but is not limited to Infection Control, Health and Safety Program, Emergency Preparedness Program, Risk Management Program and Medical Staff programmatic activities.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Current license to practice medicine in California.
- Board certified or Board eligible in Family Medicine, by the American Board of Family Medicine or by the American Osteopathic Board of Family Practice/ OMT.
- Current license to practice medicine in California.
- Current CPR certificate.
- Current DEA license.
- Knowledgeable of, competent and compliant with Electronic Medical Records.
