Associate Director - Language Arts

The AoPS Academy Associate Director - Language Arts at Mountain View is responsible for assisting with the campus's administrative and logistical operations, teaching weekly language arts classes, and partnering with the Campus Director on the hiring and training of part-time staff and teachers.

The Associate Director will:

• Teach language arts (K-12) classes on a weekly basis.
• Participate in the hiring and training of part-time staff.
• Assist with the campus's administrative and logistical operations.
• Meet with prospective families to assess and determine a student's academic ability and overall fit for program.
• Counsel current students and families as needed to provide student support.
• Respond to customer emails and phone calls.
• Help design and implement campus community building activities.
• Complete additional duties as assigned.
• Build community partnerships and attend outreach events to increase awareness of AoPS in the community and plan engaging educational events at the campus.

Preferred/Required Skills and Experience

• Minimum 1-year teaching experience, preferred with K-12 students.
• Comfortable interacting and communicating with both students and parents.
• Interest in growing management experience; no prior management experience required.
• A bachelor's degree in a language arts-related field is required.

Work Schedule

AoPS Academy is an after-school program; most of our classes and family meetings occur during the evenings and on weekends. As such, it's expected that Associate Directors work a nontraditional schedule during the academic year. Summer hours typically shift to a more standard Monday to Friday work schedule.
