Artemis Solutions has partnered with a leading and rapidly growing residential property management company to identify an experienced Accounting Manager to lead and scale their accounting operations in Lexington, KY.
This organization manages thousands of residential units across multiple states and is in a major growth and restructuring phase. As part of this expansion, all accounting and finance operations are being centralized in Lexington to support improved workflow, reporting, and long-term scalability.
This role will serve as the primary accounting and financial leader, working closely with ownership and leadership.
Position Overview
The Accounting Manager will oversee all accounting and financial operations for a large residential property portfolio. This individual will be responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, scalable processes, and actionable financial insights.
This role is ideal for a hands-on, proactive accounting leader with deep experience in residential property management accounting who thrives in fast-paced, high-volume environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the lead accounting and finance professional for the organization
- Oversee month-end close, financial statements, and forecasting
- Ensure accurate tracking and reporting of revenue, expenses, deposits, and vendor payments
- Develop, evaluate, and improve SOPs to support growth and efficiency
- Work extensively within Yardi (or similar systems such as RealPage or Entrata) and Excel
- Provide clear financial reporting and insights to ownership and leadership
- Identify issues proactively and implement solutions quickly
- Manage and mentor a lower-level accounting professional (bookkeeper/staff accountant)
- Ensure accounting practices support scaled growth across a high-volume residential portfolio
Required Qualifications
- 3–5 years of experience in residential property management accounting
- Prior experience in a senior-level accounting role (Accounting Manager, Controller, or similar)
- Strong proficiency in Yardi or comparable property management software
- Advanced or high-intermediate Excel skills
- Proven ability to manage financial reporting in high-volume residential environments
- Ability to work independently, identify gaps, and build structure without constant direction
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field
- Experience leading or building accounting teams
- Background with large residential portfolios (hundreds or thousands of units)
- Experience supporting ownership or investors with financial reporting
