Job Description
We are seeking a highly qualified Biotech / Biopharma Equity Analyst to join our growing and entrepreneurial team. The role is based in our Miami office, with potential hybrid work flexibility.
The analyst will independently conduct due diligence on healthcare companies and proactively generate bottom-up investment ideas, primarily in public equity investments and selectively in private early-stage investments. The analyst will work closely and collaboratively with the CIO (who is an MD/MBA by background) and our close-knit team of seasoned professionals.
The analyst will focus on therapeutics subsectors (biotech and pharmaceuticals), across market capitalizations and development stages.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct in-depth due diligence and primary research on new and active healthcare investments
- Make highly informed investment recommendations on companies, scientific advances, and industry trends
- Analyze and interpret a wide range of information (including clinical and preclinical data, scientific literature, and diverse expert views) to form independent viewpoints
- Build and maintain financial models
- Initiate and maintain relationships with senior company management and industry experts
- Attend industry and scientific conferences
- Conduct KOL and physician checks
- Author investment memos and present investment conclusions
Qualifications
- Strong academic credentials and demonstrated successful work experience
- Strong scientific background, with an MD or PhD degree highly preferred
- 3 years of experience in buy-side / sell-side equity research, healthcare industry, investment banking, consulting, venture capital and/or private equity
- Demonstrated financial modeling and valuation skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to quickly grasp and articulate both the big picture and the nuances of a wide range of possible investment opportunities
- Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to operate well both independently and as part of a team. Ability to interact well and network with senior company management

- Ability to learn quickly and adapt to our team’s investment process. High attention to detail
- Candidates without an MD or PhD will be considered if possess exceptionally strong educational background in science-based disciplines, healthcare investing and/or industry experience
