What are the responsibilities and job description for the Creative Director position at Artisan Talent?
Our client, a global insurance company, is seeking a Creative Director with agency experience in both B2B and B2C to lead the creative strategy for the brand.
You will be the coach and mentor to the internal creative team and will have oversight of the creative work of agency partners. You must show passion for lifting the creative talent of the organization, providing them with opportunities to grow their craft. You will provide leadership in devising true creative concepting, understanding & managing clients, learning to pitch ideas, and both defining & teaching brand systems.
You will:
- Lead and inspire cross-functional creative teams including designers, copywriters, art directors and external agency partners
- Oversee creative vision aligned with the brand voice and visual brand
- Consult on developing and refining the brand guidelines
- Ensure all creative output aligns with the brand guidelines and strategic direction
- Mentor and develop creative talent
- Establish and uphold high standards of creativity, originality, and polish of work
- Provide constructive creative feedback and art direction to continually elevate output
- Ensure deadlines and budgets are met without compromising creative caliber
- Encourage innovation, calculated risk-taking, and outside-the-box thinking
- Translate briefs into compelling creative concepts
- Contribute to ideation and brainstorming sessions to generate fresh creative ideas
- Present creative work and rationale to internal teams and clients
- Stay on top of industry trends and proactively bring new ideas to the table
- Foster an environment of open collaboration
- Communicate clearly to creative teams, articulating vision and feedback
- Build trusted relationships with internal stakeholders
- Effectively handle difficult conversations and provide diplomatic feedback
- Oversee and direct the creative output for external agency partners
- Work with creative operations team to identify gaps and process improvements
- Adhere to creative workflows and adjust with creative operations as needed
- Manage spending against budget in partnership with creative operations
Requirements
- Proven experience as a creative director with agency experience including designing and implementing brand strategy and systems. Proven ability to take brand vision into workable creative design systems.
- 10 years of experience as the brand guardian for creative teams
- Outstanding leadership and organization skills
- Exemplary interpersonal and analytical abilities
- Extensive experience leading all types of creative talent across many mediums and leading large teams of 10-15 people within the company
- Exposure to variety of industries and organizations. Experience with both B2B and B2C.
- Proven track record of handling high volume projects with speed while maintaining a high level of quality
- 5-7 years of mentorship and coaching under creative directors and creative executives
- 7 year of client management
- 7 years extensive client pitch experience
- Ability to direct and execute on complex data visualization
- Hands-on experience in creative process, marketing, graphic design and brand development
- Excellent working knowledge of software such as Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign etc.
- BSc/BA in advertising, fine art, design or relevant field; MSc/MA will be considered an asset

Hours: 30 per week
Pay 90-100 per hour
