About the Role:
Artistic Frame is seeking a creative and technically skilled Associate Furniture Designer / Engineer to join our NYC-based team. You’ll support the design and documentation of custom seating for high-end residential, hospitality, and commercial projects around the world.
This is a full-time, in-person position reporting directly to our Director of Design. We’re looking for someone with a sharp eye for detail, experience in 3D modeling, and a passion for furniture that blends form, function, and craftsmanship.
What You'll Do:
- Create 3D CAD models in SolidWorks for new designs and client modifications
- Draft technical drawings and DFA specs for client approval and factory production
- Photoshop product images and renderings for presentation
- Assist with quality control, vendor coordination, and project documentation
- Help manage our digital drawing library and product archives
- Support product development and occasional material sourcing
What You'll Bring:
- 1–2 years of relevant industry experience (custom furniture, millwork, or contract manufacturing ideal)
- Degree in Furniture Design, Industrial Design, or Mechanical Engineering
- Proficiency in: SolidWorks (modeling technical drafting) // Adobe Suite (Photoshop & InDesign) // Microsoft Office
- Basic understanding of wood joinery, metal fabrication, and upholstery
- Strong communication skills and the ability to juggle multiple active projects
- Portfolio required (PDF or web link)
