Job Title: Youth Leadership Team
Reports to: Program Manager
Pay Classification: Part-Time; Monday through Saturday (15-25 hours a week)

Artists ReEnvisioning Tomorrow Inc (ART Inc), founded in 2018 by Jonathon and Nikki Romain, is Peoria’s foremost arts and culture non-profit organization. ART Inc provides arts education opportunities to nearly 500 students each year. The staff, board, volunteers, and teaching artists of ART Inc work tirelessly to generate programs for all students to imagine, create, and realize their full potential through the arts, regardless of their ability to pay.
Purpose:
The Youth Leadership Team (YLT) position is designed as a work-based learning opportunity for high school and college students (age 16-24) in our Arts Science & Leadership Academy program (ASALA). The Youth Leadership Teacher is responsible for providing after school homework help, mentoring, and tutoring to younger students (grades 1-8) and assisting Teaching Artists with daily classes. YLTs will build leadership and life skills, as well as conduct teen summits, and assist with the Change That Narrative initiative through teen summits, writing, and more.
Duties and Responsibilities:

- Classroom setup and maintenance, including tables, chairs, supplies, attendance rosters, etc.
- Maintain cleanliness of all public areas including classrooms, kitchen, lobby, restrooms before, during, and after the program each day
- Prepare and distribute snacks for students
- Assist with marketing, social media, and administrative tasks
- Greet parents and students upon arrival at entrance of building
- Assist and support Teaching Artists and Program Coordinators
- Assist with executing lesson plans, curriculum, and project-based learning
- Monitor all public areas including hallways, bathrooms, and doorways
- Act as substitute Teaching Artist when needed
- Monitor student breaks and maintain a safe atmosphere and learning environment
- Tutor and assist younger students with homework
- Prepare students for departure at the conclusion of the program each day
