What are the responsibilities and job description for the Machine Operator position at Artivion?
Machine operator will set up and operate CNC mills, lathes and grinders for Artivion machining processes according to written procedures. The employee will also operate other equipment and processes, including inspection equipment and manual machines. The operator must be conscientious and accurately maintain process and accountability records.
Responsibilities:
- Perform simple machine set ups with minimal supervision
- Operate and monitor CNC and manual machinery according to GMP requirements.
- Conduct dimensional measurement using micrometers, test indicators, optical comparators and gage blocks
- Legibly complete processing records and related documentation
- Work with management in solving equipment or processing problems
- Perform periodic maintenance items as directed
- Suggest process and equipment improvements
- Duties as assigned from time to time by operations management
- Relate to other people beyond giving and receiving instructions: (a) can get along with co-workers or peers without exhibiting behavioral extremes; (b) respond appropriately to criticism from a supervisor
- Manage time effectively
Other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Mechanical aptitude examples are required
- Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
- Experience with FDA Good Manufacturing Practices preferred, but not required
- Basic computer skills including at minimum, be adept in use of MS Office, internet, and electronic mail. Experience using Microsoft Windows computer operating environment including ability to navigate file structures (folders, directories, files, etc…)
- Ability to read, analyze, interpret and follow written instructions
- Ability to interpret and follow oral instructions
- Required to read, write and speak English with good command of the language, and use simple math
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
- Able and willing to work 2nd shift
- Able and willing to work overtime
