Summary:
The Agile Trainer/Courseware Developer is a key contributor to our organizational Agile transformation and continuous improvement initiatives. This role is responsible for designing, developing, and delivering high-quality Agile training programs and courseware that equip individuals and teams with the knowledge, skills, and tools necessary to successfully implement and scale Agile methodologies. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in various Agile frameworks, exceptional instructional design capabilities, and a passion for adult learning.
Responsibilities:
Courseware Development:
- Design, develop, and maintain comprehensive Agile courseware, including presentations, participant guides, exercises, case studies, simulations, job aids, and assessments.
- Leverage adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies (e.g., ADDIE, SAM) to create effective and engaging learning experiences.
- Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and emerging Agile frameworks to continuously update and improve training materials.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to gather content and ensure accuracy and relevance.
- Utilize various authoring tools and learning technologies (e.g., PowerPoint, Articulate Storyline, Camtasia, LMS platforms) to create multimedia learning content.
Curriculum Design & Strategy:
- Contribute to the strategic planning and evolution of the organization's Agile learning roadmap.
- Identify training needs through assessments, surveys, and stakeholder feedback.
- Develop and refine Agile training curricula for various roles and levels within the organization (e.g., Solution Manager, Scrum Master, Product Owner, Agile Team Member, Agile Leader).
- Measure the effectiveness of training programs and courseware through evaluation metrics and feedback, continuously seeking opportunities for improvement.
Training Delivery:
- Deliver engaging and interactive Agile training sessions (virtual, in-person, blended) to diverse audiences, including new hires, existing teams, leaders, and executives.
- Facilitate workshops, coaching sessions, and collaborative learning experiences.
- Adapt training content and delivery methods to meet the specific needs and learning styles of participants.
- Provide constructive feedback and guidance to trainees to foster their Agile growth.
Agile Coaching & Mentoring (as needed):
- Provide ad-hoc coaching and mentoring to individuals and teams on Agile principles, practices, and tools.
- Support the adoption of Agile methodologies within the organization.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
Collaboration & Communication:
- Partner effectively with cross-functional teams, including HR, IT, Project Management Offices (PMOs), and individual business units.
- Communicate complex Agile concepts clearly and concisely to diverse audiences.
- Act as an Agile advocate and change agent within the organization.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Business Administration, Organizational Development, Instructional Design, Education) or equivalent practical experience.
Experience:
- 5 years of experience working in an Agile environment, with hands-on experience in various Agile roles (e.g., Scrum Master, Product Owner, Agile Coach, Agile Project Manager).
- 3 years of experience in designing, developing, and delivering adult learning programs, with a strong emphasis on instructional design for technical or complex topics.
- Proven experience in developing engaging and effective courseware using various tools and technologies.
Agile Certifications (highly preferred):
- Certified Scrum Trainer (CST) from Scrum Alliance
- Professional Scrum Trainer (PST) from Scrum.org
- SAFe Program Consultant (SPC) from Scaled Agile, Inc.
- Agile Coach certifications (e.g., ICAgile Certified Professional - Agile Coaching)
- Other relevant Agile certifications (e.g., CSM, CSPO, PSM, PSPO)
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and e-learning authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, Camtasia).
- Strong familiarity with virtual collaboration and training tools (e.g., Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Mural, Miro).
- Experience with project management software (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps, SmartSheet).
Instructional Design Skills:
- Deep understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies.
- Ability to translate complex information into clear, concise, and engaging learning content.
- Strong visual design skills for presentations and courseware.
