Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Home Health Aide to provide essential support to individuals in their homes. The ideal candidate will have experience in patient care, assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs), and a strong understanding of medical terminology. This role requires a commitment to enhancing the quality of life for clients, particularly those with developmental disabilities, dementia, or Alzheimer’s disease.
Duties
- Assist clients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation
- Monitor and document vital signs and changes in patient condition
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients
- Administer medications as prescribed and ensure adherence to medication schedules
- Assist with mobility using equipment such as Hoyer lifts
- Maintain cleanliness in the client’s living environment, including laundry and light housekeeping tasks
- Utilize electronic medical records (EMR) systems for accurate documentation of patient care
- Follow HIPAA regulations to ensure the confidentiality of patient information
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement care plans tailored to individual needs
- Provide specialized care for clients with Alzheimer’s or dementia, ensuring safety and comfort
Qualifications
- Previous experience in home health, assisted living, nursing homes, or long-term care settings is preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology and familiarity with EHR systems is a plus
- Certification in CPR and basic first aid is required
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is highly desirable
- Ability to perform catheter care and provide hospice care when necessary
- Strong observational skills for monitoring patient conditions effectively
- Excellent communication skills and a compassionate demeanor towards patients and families
- Ability to work independently while managing time effectively in a home care setting
- Schedule is Monday, Wednesday & Friday 9am through 3:30pm. Tuesday, Thursday & Saturday 12pm through 7:30pm
