The individual in this role will support the Planova virus clearance studies at BSL-2 facilities (either contract research organizations or customer sites). They will also support the virus clearance studies. The Field Application Specialist supports account managers and Planova customers by addressing technical inquires which includes but it is not limited to general Planova operation, viral clearance, integrity testing and troubleshooting. The Field Applications team is also responsible for performing Planova projects in-house at the Glenview facility, including testing of filters sent by Planova users in urgent circumstances. Lastly, the Field Applications Specialist manages all equipment used for virus clearance studies and ensures all equipment is operational and calibrated.Duties / Responsibilities : Laboratory SupportSupport virus clearance studies at BSL-2 facilitiesSupport internal laboratory projects at the Glenview facilityMaintain equipment of virus filtration kitsEnsure proper calibration of equipmentTechnical Support of CustomersAddress technical inquiries from Planova customers and Account ManagersAssist in troubleshooting customer\'s technical problemsSupport with customer and internal trainingsDocumentationPrepare study reports from validation studies for customersGenerate technical reports from internal studiesTimely communication and regular exchange of information and resourcesDocumentation of internal and external requests for informationPrediction of future or similar requestsProactive approach to address future requestsFather in-depth customer processing knowledge and organize findingsPresentation of current projects or project updates at department meetingMainta n on-going understanding of the biotechnology industry including trends within recombinant protein and plasma fractionation by supporting customer visits, review of trade journals and attendance at industry conferences.Qualifications / Requirements : BS in Life Sciences2 years lab experienceExperience operating with sterile techniqueExperience with nano-filtration or other protein purification is a plusStrong verbal and communications skills requiredPhysical Demands / Environmental Conditions : This position is a hybrid role and will require approximately 50% travel primarily to the east coast. Occasional travel to the west coast and the Midwest will be required.
