About this Position:
- 32 hours per week: Monday - Friday 6-6.5 hrs each day (some flexibility available)
- Eligible for benefits
- May need to assist with driving duties on occasion

Responsibilities include:
- Develops and maintains a good rapport with all departments.
- Schedules movies, plans parties and provides games/activities for residents. Completion of monthly calendar in Publisher. (Flexibility required due to patient's conditions).
- Provides on going activities (group and self-directed) throughout scheduled workday.
- Oversees residents engaged in scheduled activities to promote the physical, social, vocational, emotional and intellectual aspects of residents by applying experience in activities and knowledge of diagnoses and conditions of residents.
- Makes routine visits with residents and provides assistance with crafts programs, projects, etc., as necessary.
- Encourages residents to participate in appropriate level self-directed activities geared toward those with a dementia diagnosis (which require patience and a willingness to learn and help develop memory-focused activities to benefit our residents’ quality of life and enjoyment.)
- Conducts individual and/or group re-motivation and reality orientation sessions to promote the self-worth, self-esteem and reality level of residents.
- Provides written and/or oral reports of programs and activities as requested.
- Participates in regularly scheduled reviews of resident charts.
- Assists in standardizing the methods in which activity programs are performed.
Requirements:
- High School or higher education.
- 1 year of therapeutic recreation or similar experience preferred, experience with geriatric population preferred.
- Driver's License.
