What are the responsibilities and job description for the Audiology Externship position at Ascentist Audiology & Vestibular Center?
Ascentist Audiology & Vestibular Center is seeking motivated doctoral audiology residents to join our established practice in the Greater Kansas City area. Our team of expert audiologists specializes in both hearing and vestibular care, committed to improving patient outcomes through compassionate, patient centered care. We provide comprehensive hearing healthcare, across the lifespan at 14 locations, including hospitals, private practices, and ENT/Otology offices. Services include diagnostic hearing exams, hearing aids, osseointegrated devices, cochlear implant evaluations, tinnitus/hyperacusis management, auditory processing disorder treatments, vestibular diagnostics, and aural rehabilitation. We collaborate with ENT physicians, otologists, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners as part of the Ascentist Healthcare division to treat both pediatric and adult patients.
Position Overview
We are offering two externship opportunities for the year 2026-2027. Externs will gain hands-on experience in both private practice and ENT/otology settings. Our student-focused environment supports third- and fourth-year students with active mentorship from our audiologists. Externs will work closely with experienced professionals and have exposure to a wide variety of cases. We are also committed to offering career opportunities after externship.
Qualifications
• Applicants must have completed or be near completion of Au.D. program with strong academic standing. • Proficiency in core audiologic skills, including administering comprehensive audiograms, basic knowledge of hearing aids and experience assisting in fittings, programming, and counseling.
• Experience in general report writing, patient management, and professionalism is essential.
• Specialty experience or a strong interest in areas such as tinnitus management, auditory processing disorders, and vestibular diagnostics is encouraged but not required.
