Responsibilities of the Senior Linux System Administrator include:
- Implementing operating system and network device security configuration in accordance with Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) approved Security Technical Implementation Guides
- Administering boundary devices (e.g., managed switches, proxy servers, routers, firewalls, cryptography, and intrusion detection systems)
- Performing vulnerability assessments using Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS), Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG), the Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP) Compliance Checker, incorporating automated Benchmarks
- Correcting flaws and implementing technical controls in the hardware or software installed within a network environment
Requirements
Education, Skills, and Experience:
- Bachelor’s of Science in Computer Science, Information Systems Management from an ABET-accredited institution or IA/CS technology field, in lieu of degree, 5 years experience as an IT technician on DoD classified networks is acceptable
- Five (5) years of experience managing DoD Host-Based-Security Systems (HBSS) preferred
- Ability to successfully manage campus-scale (multiple buildings with hundreds of users) server installations
- Demonstrated experience with the the DoD Information Assurance Vulnerability Management Program (IAVMP)
- Possess DoD Approved Baseline Certification as Information Assurance Technical Level II in accordance with DoD 8570.01-M (one of the following certifications must be held: CCNA Security; CySA ; GICSP; GSEC; Security CE; CND; or SSCP)
Security Clearance Requirements:
- This position requires an active Top Secret clearance. Selected candidate will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
