Summary:
The Sr. Electrical Engineer coordinates engineering activities related to the implementation of new processes and the revision of existing processes. This position provides electrical engineering assistance throughout the plant.
What you’ll be contributing:
- Promote and follow all plant safety guidelines.
- Assists as specified by plant management in maintaining compliance with local, state and federal regulations pertaining to safety, environmental issues, etc. Provides associated training as needed.
- Assumes responsibility for the maintenance of survey equipment, computer automation hardware and software, and other plant equipment utilized by the electrical Plant Engineer.
- Leads the electrical department on Condition Based Maintenance developing the proper maintenance strategies based on plant’s needs.
- Participates as a coach and mentor in the development program of the talent needed for the electrical department.
- Set the strategies on routine and major maintenance planning. As well as mid and long term investment plan.
- Plans, surveys, designs and writes electrical specifications and obtains electrical contractors for the implementation of new projects as well as the revision of existing ones. Supervises and inspects the work performed by contractors.
- Provides engineering assistance as needed for plant construction projects.
- Participates on the OPEX and CAPEX budget management process.
- Performs field measurements, inventory calculations and related activities in conjunction with materials inventories.
- Conducts and/or participates in plant meetings regarding operations activities, safety, environmental issues, and special projects.
- Working closely with electrical planner updating plant equipment data files, site maps, various drawings, engineering reference material and/or records of the plant's locations of underground utilities.
- Inspects and approves electrical equipment received at the plant.
- Works closely with Reliability Engineers leading Root Cause Analysis and other methodologies to improve plant reliability.
- Represents Louisville plant on corporate Task Forces.

To succeed in this position, you will need:
- Minimum 4 Year/ Bachelors Degree in engineering, electrical engineering or closely related field.
- Minimum 7 years of experience with
- Project management and familiarity with contractors and salespeople
- A professional engineering environment.
- A heavy industry with specific office and field experience in engineering design (to include programmable logic control equipment usage) and construction
- Ability to read, write, and understand warning labels, instructions, signs, etc.
- Extensive knowledge of engineering theories, principles and techniques, especially those regarding electrical engineering
- Ability to use and troubleshoot engineering equipment such as measuring devices, calculators, computers and PLC’s
- Ability to use independent judgment in performing daily activities. Works in conjunction with mechanical plant engineer.
- Ability to work under general supervision using specified standard practices and procedures .
- Ability to refer to supervisor for guidance on unusual problems
