Ashe County Sheriff's Office is seeking applications to fill a vacancy in the Communications Department as a Telecommunicator I.
Under general supervision, successful applicants will provide 24-hour continuous emergency, non-emergency, and administrative communications services for state, local and private agencies and organizations. Employees are responsible for receiving incoming calls, dispatching applicable personnel, and operating various computer systems, including the CAD system.
Applicants must effectively solicit, process, analyze and prioritize information from various sources including emergencies and non-emergency administrative exchanges.
Employee must exercise considerable tact and poise in obtaining information from distressed persons. Full salary after the first year certifications have been completed: All training is covered under salary.
