Job Title - Development Engineer
Job Purpose
As a key member of the APAC, I&PD team you will be involved in the design, development & delivery of APAC product development projects -
- Design & develop mechanical fittings & valves suitable for injection moulding tools.
- Create design of experiment to comprehensively design and test key features & properties (performance, standards, manufacture etc) to meet project deliverables & timelines.
- Conduct detailed product design including engineering drawings for manufacture, structural/functional load calculations and detailed product life analysis using design tools like CREO & SolidWorks.
- Develop detailed product specifications, project plans and ensure all stakeholders are aligned.
- Identify and promote opportunities to initiate innovations that will result in improved manufacture of products.
- Maintain awareness of developing technologies and materials.
- Key member of the product development team reporting into the PD Manager.
- Ability to lead and influence without direct authority.
- Knowledge of injection moulding manufacturing process
- Experience in prototyping and testing
- Skilled in FMEA, DFM and root cause analysis
Required Experience and Knowledge
- Mechanical Engineering Degree
- 5 years product development experience from concept through to manufacture
- Understanding of water/gas pipe and fitting systems and basic hydraulic principles, preferable
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, preferably in polymers and/or injection moulding
- Project management experience
- Able to travel overseas - 2-week periods
- Good English skills – verbal & written
Functional competencies
- Proficient with 3D CAD Modelling tools like CREO & SolidWorks
- Proficient with Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, Power Point
- Proficient knowledge of testing protocols, DOE, materials design etc
