Job Purpose:

The PM is accountable for successfully leading New Product Development (NPD) projects and assisting the Innovation function, ensuring strategic alignment with the Innovation goals and objectives of Aliaxis, seen as an expert in Innovation able to translate customer needs into valuable solutions, the job holder coaches the IM team to reach a higher level of maturity.

This involves leading NPD projects according to Aliaxis Innovation Model (AIM, Aliaxis’ Stage-Gate process), from the Idea phase all the way through to successfully launching the new product into the market.

The PM is a key player in the delivery of organic growth, by fostering the smooth delivery of the NPD projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan and coordinate the different activities within each stage of the NPD process, collect & analyze the findings of these activities, report and present the outcomes of these analyses during gate meetings.  These activities are performed by various departments involved (Marketing, Sales, Product Developments, Engineering, Supply Chain, Finance, Legal) during the development of new products.

Help to review & edit new ideas submitted by colleagues in specific documents. Propose & present analyses, together with the initiator of the new business & product ideas to Gate Keepers.

Visit (in collaboration with Marketing & Sales) clients, end-users, jobsites, professionals to conduct Voice-of-Customer research. Capture client’s problem, needs, wants and insights. Present solutions, concepts, prototypes and newly developed products.

Prepare the business cases & budgets (with the finance department), based on the stages’ activities findings and monitor the key financial indicators of the business case along the development of the new product. Plan for the development and launch of new products.

Engage with external experts (patent attorneys, design consultants) if necessary to support each project.

•Planning and managing of product development projects in an international environment.

•Overall responsibility for the successful execution of projects in order to achieve the project objectives concerning profitability, costs, quality and timing.

•Ensuring of simultaneous engineering as well as effective opportunity and risk management.

•Coordination of project team members, customers, internal and external development partners, suppliers and production facilities.

•Functional leadership of the project team. Driving project to common objectives meet the project objectives.

•Performance feedback of team members to the project core team managers.

•Planning and assigning work packages to the team while monitoring and controlling the progress.

•Overall responsibility and management of released project budget.

•Successful management of all project stakeholder’s interests.

•Project reporting and presentation to management committees.

•Create and maintain transparency within the project.

•Coordination and management of project changes considering the effects on the project objectives.

•Successfully ensure requirements management.

•PM has the right and duty of escalation in case of abnormal situation.

•PM must ensure all relevant information from the project discussed in the Core Team: including changes, risk detection and evaluation, is forwarded to the Extended Team members and vice-versa.

Qualifications:

  • University degree in disciplines related to Engineering and/or Business Administration preferably.
  • Experienced Project Management mechanical or civil construction projects.
  • Excellent command of the English language (both written & verbal).
  • Knowledge of plastic extrusion & injection molding
  • Experience with Stage-Gate product developments methods
  • 5-8years of industry NPD experience

Skills & competencies:

  • Business savviness with focus on Marketing; New Product Development and Operations/Engineering functions
  • Solid understanding of Supply Chain, QA, Procurement principles
  • Good knowledge in Finance (Business Case), Risk Management & Legal implication related to NPD (IP, EH&S, Product Liability, Codes & Standard and Certification matters)
  • Project delivery experience
  • Working knowledge of Stage Gate process
  • Champion of change with a proven ability to ‘sell” and inspire.
  • Excellent interpersonal, influencing and communication skills – both written and verbal
  • Proven ability to build effective cross functional working relationships.
  • Ability to manage cross functional team comprising of varying levels of seniority outside of direct line organizational structures.
  • Proven ability to engage key stakeholders and achieve results through others.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects that vary in complexity and priority.
  • Broad industry relevant external network.
