Position Summary
Reporting to the Executive Director, this position is responsible for the programming of concerts and private parties for Ashkenaz.

Responsibilities
Duties include but are not limited to the following:
Booking
- Acquire talent through year-round for local traditional and global music venue (approximately 4-6 shows per week)
- Evaluate requests to perform at Ashkenaz and respond to artists and agents in a timely way
- Work with promoters and agents to secure “presents” shows of all kinds.
- Build offers and negotiate deal terms with artist/event representation.
- Form new connections with agents and promoters to maintain bookings.
- Develop and maintain quality relationships with artists, artist representation, local event curators, and members of the local business and municipal communities.
- Assist in providing necessary information for the P&L/budget and enter data as needed.
- Maintain effective communication with all departments (production, marketing, box office, etc.) on logistics of confirmed shows.
- Utilize company systems to create, distribute, maintain, and track event information.
- Be present during the event and settle events as necessary.
- Communicate budget allocations, creative direction, and demographics with marketing and venue staff.
- Keep Event Management Software (EMS), Prism, updated as the calendar develops. Manage and maintain venue calendars.
Administration
- Oversee all event administrative duties
- Maintain information and database with booking calendar updates, information updates, and reports
- Contracting with artists
- Work with the Production Manager on advancing shows
- Work with the Office Manager on invoicing and payments
- Report on booking issues
- Meet regularly with the Executive Director and other staff members and volunteers involved in productions
- Other duties, as assigned by supervisor including participation in special projects
- Act as liaison with other internal departments
Qualifications, Education, and Experience
- 3 years of live music production experience required, with non-profit experience a plus
- Bachelor's degree, preferred, with courses in ethnomusicology
- Highly skilled at projecting and managing budgets
- Experience with music/concert programming
- Passion and willingness to learn about traditional music, world music, and other arts practices
- Knowledge and proficiency with Google Suite applications
- Vigilant on email and follow-up
- Independent, problem-solving abilities, detail-oriented, highly organized, with strong communication skills
- Ability to handle multiple responsibilities, prioritize work, solve problems, and operate under time and work volume pressure
- Effective interpersonal skills and flexibility are a must
- Thoughtful communication skills, both written and verbal
Salary Range: $25-45 based on experience. Employer-paid health insurance and flexible schedule.
