Position: Controls Specialist
Reports to: Controls Manager
Purpose
The primary purpose of this position is to assist Ashland Credit Union (ACU) in living out its mission of "Embolden our members to reach higher, achieve more, and take control of their financial future." A key component to this is providing outstanding service to both internal and external members.
This position will serve as a subject matter expert of processing lien releases, supporting insurance claims connected to the loan portfolio, and assist the Controls Manager in departmental tasks.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Adhere to all policies and procedures related to the processing of consumer lending lien release requests.
2. Utilizing ACU's internal lien release tracking system, release liens from eligible titles promptly.
3. Maintain an organized filing system for lien releases.
4. Answer title lien release related member inquiries or concerns in person, by email, fax or telephone in a professional manner.
5. Act as the single point of contact for ACU for insurance claim related scenarios. This includes GAP claims, debt protection claims, and life insurance claims.
6. Assist the Controls Manager in preparing Supervisory Committee documents.
'7. Other duties as requested by the Controls Manager or the Chief Risk Officer.
Qualifications
Experience with titles.
Experience with handling consumer lending insurance claims.
Understanding of federal, state, and local laws and regulations as they apply to the release of titles.
Ability to collaborate with other managers and work to create balanced processes that satisfy both parties.
Ability to work Monday thru Friday 8am to 5 pm EST
