The CNC Machining Supervisor will supervise all aspects of the CNC department, employees and assignments. This position will supervise all aspect of CNC machining, ordering material and scheduling work through the CNC department to meet the needs and demands of Automation, operations and maintenance departments. The CNC Machining Supervisor will evaluate and maintain the quality of workmanship in order to ensure CNC items meet required dimensional tolerances. The CNC machining Supervisor will order, quote and receive materials needed to keep the CNC department on track to meet the needs of their customers.

Primary Jobs Functions:
- Provide direction and expectations on projects; assign workload accordingly.
- Help determine and develop new methods for CNC machining based on cost and efficiency
- Work with vendors to understand and optimize their abilities to get best part quality and delivery at best cost
- Oversee and ensure quality and quantity of CNC machining, cutting, drilling, deburring and surface finishing; provide final approval
- Order materials and tooling directly from vendors, call and/ or visit vendors. Maintain inventory of metal shop materials and supplies
- Schedule machining work for each machining center
- Program machining centers
- Attend trade shows, and open houses to stay current on technology relating to equipment, materials and processes
- Assess jobs and parts requiring machining, brainstorm ideas to utilize best practices. Meet with requester, attain drawings and assign work.
- Collaborate with other departments within the company regarding their project needs for machining.
- Monitor and maintain a safe and clean working environment
- Make employment decisions and/ or recommendations on hiring, improvement plans, transfers, promotions, corrective actions, terminations, pay adjustments, etc.
- Coordinate and supervise the work of employees in by directing members of the team to meet the area's goals. Audit regularly to ensure standard operating procedures are being adhered to.
- Supervise employee performance and assist employees in making improvements to their performance through coaching, mentoring and administering performance reviews. Recommend, plan and/ or implement employee training and skill development activities.
- Audit, maintain and ensure employee time- keeping and absentee records are accurate.
- Communicate company and departmental issues and goals and facilitate employee growth and development through weekly team meetings, regular individual meetings, coaching, training, and company learning opportunities.
- Manage resources to optimize equipment, facilities, employees, methods and materials.

Job Qualifications:
Education:
- Associate degress in CNC machining, or related field, or equivalent work experience, required.
Experience:
- 2 years of CNC machining, manual milling an lathe experience in an industrial shop setting, required
- Lead/ Supervisor experience
License or certifications:
- PIV license or ability to obtain within 60 days
