What are the responsibilities and job description for the Daycare Teacher position at Ashley's House Learning Center?
Hours are Monday through Friday from 3 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. (Can be flexible on start time, but MUST be able to stay until 5:30 p.m.)
This position is perfect for college or high school students looking to get experience in a childcare facility but only wanting part time.
We are looking for individuals with a minimum of 6 months experience in a licensed childcare facility, but we are willing to train the right person. All applicants MUST be able to pass a state and federal background check.
Ashley's House will assist all new hires in obtaining CPR/First Aid as well as other KDHE required certifications.
Pay depends on experience and education.
Typical duties of a teacher:
While the activities vary, teachers focus primarily on teaching children to share, express themselves, communicate, and collaborate well with others, follow their curiosity, and further their language and vocabulary development.
Other day-to-day duties include:
- Ability to lift 30 lbs
- Demonstrate an attitude of support and encouragement
- Providing positive reinforcement and redirection
- Communicating with parents on a daily basis
- Interacting with the children through play
- Creating and leading a supportive, nurturing learning environment that encourages responsibility and motivation
- Maintaining a positive relationship with co-workers, children, and families
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $10.00 - $13.00 per hour
Expected hours: 10 – 15 per week
