Furniture Repair Technician
Asley Furniture the #1 retailer in home furnishing and bedding is looking for an experienced Furniture Repair Technician to work at our distribution center in Fredericksburg, VA!! Our Furniture Technicians are responsible for repairing minor damages on received furniture. Prior experience in furniture repair, wood working, and/or upholstery repair required.

- Repair damaged furniture to new condition in the allotted time frame.
- Ensure that merchandise is repaired to stock condition efficiently while using industry best practices.
- Complete upholstery repair including mechanism replacement.
- Determine if furniture is repairable or if it must be replaced.
- Report any incomplete service call to Customer Care.
- Record all completed repairs and make note of any further repairs needed and/or parts that need to be ordered.
- Maintain a clean and organized shop area/service truck.
- Assist with various warehouse tasks as needed.
- Ability to carry out goals and instructions and to follow through on assignments.
- Demonstrates a customer focus.
- Ability to bend, stoop, reach, stand, and walk frequently.
- Ability to work predominately in a warehouse environment; Potential exposure to oil, latex, and spray paint, household chemicals, biological odors and household dusts
- Will bend, squat, stoop, kneel, crouch and reach at or above shoulder level.
- Ability to work in in-door/out-door climate.
- High School Diploma
- Minimum 5 years of experience with wood, wood veneer, leather, and fabric upholstery
- Must have excellent communication and customer service skills
- Clean driving record required
- While performing the duties at this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical moving parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
- While performing the duties at this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel, and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl and taste and or smell. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and peripheral vision.
