Duties
- Provide exceptional customer service by assisting customers with meat selections, offering cooking tips, and answering product-related questions.
- Safely and efficiently cut, trim, and prepare meats according to company standards.
- Ensure proper storage of meat products and monitor inventory levels to prevent shortages or overstock.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the meat department, including cleaning equipment, display cases, and work surfaces.
- Stock shelves, freezers, and coolers, ensuring that products are properly labeled and rotated for freshness.
- Follow all food safety and health regulations, including proper handling, storage, and sanitation practices.
- Assist in receiving and inspecting incoming shipments of meat products to ensure quality and accuracy.
- Work collaboratively with the team to achieve departmental goals and provide an excellent shopping experience for customers.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
- Previous experience in a meat department, deli, or food service environment is a plus.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and meat-cutting techniques is a plus.
- Strong communication skills and a customer-focused attitude.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy items (up to 50 lbs) and stand for extended periods.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
