Fishers Event Center has an excellent and immediate opening for an Assistant Food and Beverage Manager. Support the Food & Beverage Manager in directing and coordinating the entire food and beverage operation at the facility by performing the following duties or through subordinate supervisors.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assists the Food & Beverage Manager in directing and coordinating concession operations at the Fishers Event Center by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors
- Markets Food and Beverage services to clients and facilitates Food and Beverage control.
- Assists the Food & Beverage Manager in overseeing Food and Beverage operations during event to ensure client satisfaction.
- Scheduling event staff based on event operations and needs
- Support client food & beverage and operational needs for the event
- Makes recommendations for menu/theme development for the event
- Assist in developing work plans including scheduling and ordering, and assigns appropriate duties to subordinates
- Support Food and Beverage operations during event to ensure client satisfaction and quality control standards
- Inspects food service facilities to ensure that equipment and buildings meet requirements of state and local health laws and internal regulations
- Assists with creation of Food and Beverage sales projections and budgets for facility events.
- Facilitates payroll processing for internal staff and NPO payouts
- Maintains inventory control
- Works within guidelines for food and labor costs
- Analyzes information concerning facility operation such as patron attendance and labor costs to prepare budget and to maintain cost control of facility operations.
- Inspects and tastes prepared foods to maintain quality standards and sanitation regulations
- Aware of current alcohol handling rules and regulations
Qualifications

- This position will work with limited supervision and will require the ability to interact with all levels of staff including management.
- Requires ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends and holidays, in addition to normal business hours.
- Servsafe certified
- Valid Indiana Liquor Permit
Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree (BA) in Food & Beverage Management or related field preferred
- Minimum 2 years experience in management level position in Food & Beverage or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of spreadsheet software and payroll processing software
- Advanced oral and written communication skills
- Strong orientation to customer service and ability to work with other staff members in the facility.
- Excellent organizational, planning, communication and inter-personal skills.
- Ability to undertake and complete multiple tasks.
- Assess client requirements and deliver ensuring client satisfaction
- Supervise food preparation, service and cleanup is essential
- Build and maintain relationship with vendors
- Ensure all safety and sanitation procedures are followed in compliance with HACCP
