About The Role
- Reporting directly to the Subrogation Manager, the Subrogation CSR is responsible for but not limited to Skip-Tracing auto claims for the Subrogation Department. This includes programs such as TLO, ISO, and WebMVR. The Subrogation CSR is also responsible for assigning and monitoring claims to our Litigation attorney. Filing SR1s with the DMV on Uninsured Motorist claims and sending letters.
- Have knowledge of pertinent litigation and collection guidelines including the Fair Debt Collection and Practices Act (FDCPA) and/or state laws, as well as CA DOI Fair Claims Regulations
- Handle the incoming Subrogation files received in the “Subro-In-Box.”
- Assign new files to either the Subrogation Specialist or in some cases the Subrogation Manager.
- Use company tools at our disposal to help locate claimant’s adverse carriers, business entities, etc. To affect recoveries with such tools as, CVR, MVR, ISO, TLO, Internet-Searches.
- Interact with Subrogation- Specialists and Subrogation Manager for any needed follow-up or use of tools such as requesting MVR & CVR requests. Utilizing skip tracing, when appropriate, to determine when it is best to seek recovery versus discontinuing subrogation efforts.
- Ensure ongoing adjudication of claims within company standards and industry best practices and regulations.
- Skip-Tracing and running of credit reports on judgment we have obtained.
- Handle and route incoming e-mails and or documents received from our Subrogation Attorney.
- File SR-1’s with the California DMV
- Pay Legal Invoices
- Handle Spanish collection calls (If Bilingual)
- Uploading of incoming documents into the claim file.
- Handle Tasks / Dairies for Legal “Non-Litigation” Subrogation files.
- Help work and maintain the “Old Subrogation In-Box.”
- Produce grammatically correct and clearly written correspondence including letters, memos, reports, and claim file documentation.
- Maintain and document all Subrogation files that are assigned for recovery.
- Provide feedback to Management on process and system improvement initiatives for the department.
- Report to Management as soon there is an awareness of any issues or concerns that may be detrimental to the department or Company; recommend policies and procedures to Management regarding quality issues that may arise.
- Comply with state and federal laws, Department of Insurance regulations, and insurance carrier best practices and follow and enforce Aspire General Insurance Company and partner’s policies, procedures, and work rules.
- Regular and predictable punctuality and attendance.
- Ability to achieve targeted performance goals.
- 6 months to 1 year of previous claims CSR experience.
- Must have a clear understanding of insurance industry practices, standards, and terminology.
- Must be able to pass a background check.
- Must have the ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.
- Must have a disciplined approach to all job-related activities.
- Must have a solid foundation of personal organization, sound decision-making and analytical skills, and strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Must have strong keyboard skills as well as proficiency in Windows and MS Office products.
- Work effectively with other team members.
- Must have excellent judgment in decision-making.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Bilingual preferred
