What are the responsibilities and job description for the Chef Instructor position at Aspire Youth and Family?
Culinary:
Looking for an experienced Chef who have a passion for teaching the next generation in Culinary Arts. No more long hours on the line, and on your feet. Let your experience be put to good use.
Develop and provide age-appropriate engaging culinary instruction to youth by following the approved curriculum for the Kids at Work! Program,
Ensure that kitchen space rules including safety, food preparation, storage, COVID sanitation and cleanliness, lock-up, or other best practice rules are maintained at all times.
Help create and maintain a supportive environment for youth and families
Transport youths to/from program locations with company van
Mentoring:
Work as team with Interpersonal coach to provide positive behavioral support and assist youth in developing soft skills for use in work and school settings.
Help youth learn how to apply new skills learned in their other environments such as school, home, or work
Admin:
Proficiency in computer and writing skills.
Complete required daily documentation within specified timelines. Tasks include but not limited to menu planning based on supply ingredients available and in connection with corresponding lessons, attendance, record tracking, student progress notes
Assist in ongoing development and refining of Kids at Work! Program,
Attend supervision meetings and general staff meetings.
Provide Job readiness training for students
Community Outreach proficiency to network local employment opportunities for graduating students.
Experience:
- Chef/ Kitchen Management: 4 years (Preferred)
- Culinary Degree (Preferred)
- Serv-Safe Management Certified
- Serv-Safe Instructor/ Proctor Certified A Plus
- Staff Training Experience
Job Type: FT position Available
Salary: $13-15 hr
