The Role:
As the Lead Billing Administrator, you will provide day-to-day leadership, guidance, and support to a team of Billing Administrators responsible for invoicing customer service calls. You will oversee and process billing transactions related to service activity, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with established billing guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide day‑to‑day leadership, guidance, and support to a team of Billing Administrators responsible for invoicing customer service calls.
- Process and oversee billing transactions related to service activity, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and adherence to established billing guidelines.
- Review and audit billing work completed by team members; identify errors, resolve inconsistencies, and provide coaching or guidance as needed.
- Train and support new and existing billing staff on processes, systems, and best practices.
- Serve as a point of escalation for billing questions, exceptions, or complex issues prior to manager involvement.
- Collaborate closely with Accounts Receivable, field branches, and internal partners to ensure accurate billing and minimize customer disputes or delays.
- Maintain accurate customer and end‑user information within billing systems.
- Analyze billing and service call reporting to identify trends, issues, and opportunities for improvement.
- Support the Service Invoicing Manager with daily operational activities, workload management, and reporting needs.
- Assist with documentation of processes and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
- Perform additional administrative or project‑based tasks as assigned by Manager.
- Demonstrated knowledge of billing processes, controls, and best practices.
- Associate’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of billing and/or customer service experience required.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and spreadsheets.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail with proven organizational and time management abilities.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize work, and problem‑solve in a fast‑paced environment.
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively within a team.
- Demonstrated ability to coach, guide, and positively influence peers.
- Flexibility to work overtime during month‑end close or periods of increased workload.
- Consistently professional demeanor with a positive, solution‑oriented attitude.
