This involves big-picture thinking supported by a focus on the logistics and tactical aspects related to planning community events and activities that include, but are not limited to: recreation, travel, culture, social interaction, entertainment and general education; as well as curricula encompassing fitness and health-related activities and programming.
Position Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive, multi-dimensional wellness program
- Design, coordinate, and evaluate fitness, aquatics, health education programs, and special events
- Partner with the Community Manager to plan, coordinate, market, and assess community programs and services
- Organize and execute events, including securing entertainment, vendors, materials, and logistics
- Engage residents by encouraging participation, volunteerism, and feedback through evaluations and focus groups
- Support resident interest groups, chartered clubs, and wellness/advisory committees; attend Board and committee meetings as needed
- Promote programs through community communication channels, demonstrations, and collaboration with staff
- Develop and implement member retention strategies with measurable outcomes
- Build and maintain positive relationships with residents, staff, departments, and community partners
- Coordinate with the Community Manager to supervise, train, and evaluate staff, volunteers, and contract instructors
- Ensure fitness facilities and equipment are maintained in accordance with ACSM standards
- Establish program goals, track outcomes, and report results
- Assist with budget planning, financial monitoring, and program recommendations
- Respond professionally and tactfully to communications and concerns; uphold organizational values and policies
- Perform other related duties as assigned

- Computer proficiency with respect to Microsoft Office Suite, database software, internet and website portals, point of sale system, registration processes, policies and procedures, equipment, material and products, etc.

- Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

- Position involves sitting, standing, and movement throughout the day.

- Use a ladder and participate in and train others in the rules of activities.
- Capable of working extended hours, to include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
