SUMMARY
Reporting to the Manager, the Truck driver is responsible for delivering product to assigned locations in a safe and efficient manner. This position is responsible for the safe and legal operation of the company’s commercial motor vehicle, as well as timely delivery of product, comprehension of various transportation documents and operating necessary mechanical controls on all tractor-trailers while demonstrating safe driving practices. Will interact with customers in a professional and appropriate manner to ensure effective communication regarding customer problems and requests.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Essential duties and responsibilities may include and are not limited to:
- Transports product to assigned location ensuring timely delivery of product.
- Ensures proper handling and unloading of product to assure safety and minimal risk of damage.
- Provides safe and timely transportation of product from origin to destination.
- Responsible for safe and legal operation of commercial motor vehicle in accordance with all local, state, federal, DOT laws and company policies
- Inspects vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues.
- Reports to assigned dispatcher or supervisor daily for route instructions.
- Reports defects, accidents, or violations
- Communicate with all levels of staff in the organization.
- Complete necessary paperwork/documentation related to truck operations and product such as logs.
- May load and unload trailers; secures loads safely and accurately
- Additional duties as assigned related to the role of a Seasonal-Truck Driver I.
- At least 2 year experience operating a Truck with a Class A License.
- Need to have doubles endorsement.
- Experience in almond processing preferred.
- Strong work ethic – dependable and reliable
- Good interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Detail-oriented and thorough
- Valid California Class A commercial driver’s license
- Clean DMV record and current medical card

The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, reaching, handling, pushing, pulling, and climbing. Frequent lifting, and or moving over 50 pounds. Constant use of overall vision and hearing abilities; frequent reading and close up work.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work is performed based on a daily operation schedule. Work is performed in outside weather conditions with varied work schedule and overtime to include weekends, nights and holidays.
