What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Assistant OB/GYN Office position at Associated OB/GYN?
JOB TITLE: MEDICAL ASSISTANT
REPORTS TO:
Office manager for administrative and clinical matters and/or the physician.
JOB OVERVIEW:
Performs routine clinical and laboratory work as directed by the physician or office manager.
JOB DUTIES:
- Escort the patient to the laboratory and introduce yourself to new patients. Show the patient to the restroom when necessary and provide them with a cup to obtain a urine sample.
- Update patient vitals, LMP, medications, allergies, past medical history, previous surgeries, family history, social history and any other pertinent information on every visit.
- Some venipuncture; process lab forms; properly label/process urine samples
- Ask patient the appropriate questions to determine which template to open for physician.
- Prepare patient to be seen by the physician and provide the appropriate equipment necessary for the exam. Instruct patients on the use of the capes, drapes, and where to hang clothes every visit.
- Assist the physician with the exams when necessary and/or if requested by the patient or the physician.
- Hook patients up for NST
- Sterilize equipment used for procedures
- Adhere to HIPPA
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 32 – 40 per week
