This job will learn the role of Medical Receptionist and Medical Assistant.
Medical Receptionist greets patients upon arrival for appointments, prepares and updates patient medical charts, answers the phone, provides exceptional customer service in a timely manner, and interacts with all levels of personnel: physicians, practice managers, nurses, etc. Computer proficiency, attention to detail, and the ability to multi-task are required. Experience in the medical field is required.
Medical Assistant provides patient pre-operative and post-operative surgical information to patients. Answers patient clinical calls. Prepares surgical packets and medical clearances. Assists with patient evaluation in clinic and post operative phone calls.
Education
- High school diploma required
- Medical Assistant Certification preferred
Work Experience
- 3 years medical office experience preferred
Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs)
- Must have computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of information
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Must be proficient with Window-style applications and various software packages specific to the role
- Medical Terminology
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Must have analytic skills, be self-directed, function independently, and be able to handle multiple tasks and prioritize workload
