Our Hanover, MD office is hiring for an Employee Benefits Sr Account Manager. This hybrid position that is responsible for maintaining and growing a book of business. This position provides a high level of support at the direction of the Account Executive and Producer along with direct customer service to clients. Duties include working with the Producer to design proper insurance/risk management services for clients along with customer service in coordination with other agency personnel. The Senior Account Representative has product knowledge and is familiar with products offered by carriers. The Senior Account Representative assists in the production and renewal of accounts, paralleling, agency and individual Producer goals, and can assist clients with service needs and making changes to existing accounts. In addition, this position is responsible for administrative support for Account Executives and Senior Account Executives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Strategic management of assigned book in conjunction with Producer to understand client's business and assist in developing EB programs and initiatives that support the client's goals and objectives; Coordinates and ensures a smooth transition process for new customers.
  • Delivers enrollment, benchmarking, financial, and utilization data based on financial review standards and makes recommendations as appropriate.
  • Identifies opportunities for adding other lines of coverage or services.
  • Educates clients concerning the regulatory environment and assists clients with compliance issues as necessary.
  • Acts as a project manager by clearly communicating and collaboratively guiding the account team to execute customer-specific initiatives which deliver unique value through the execution of client-specific business plans, service timelines, and corporate communications.
  • Coordinates and oversees the renewal process, including marketing activities, understanding underwriting and renewal development, and negotiating on behalf of clients.
  • Ensures accuracy of all agency management system information for marketing, benchmarking, and other purposes. Updates ongoing activity in the agency management system.
  • Maintains relationships with internal and external business partners and carriers.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Travel is expected to be 25% in this role.

  • Minimum Qualifications, Education, and/or Experience:

    • 3-5 years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
    • Carrier Negotiation experience preferred
    • Self-funded experience preferred
    • Strong organization and communication skills
    • Tech savvy; ability to learn multiple systems. Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office products
    • Appropriate insurance license; Life and Health Licenses Preferred
    • Valid driver’s license

    Salary : $65,000 - $80,000
